Tuition Terms and Conditions

Cohort Tuition is the trading name for Mohammed Hussain and Tanvir Walele, who are the proprietors of the business. All correspondence concerning the business is to be directed to 1A/1B Moor Street, West Bromwich, West Midlands, B70 7AU. The telephone number is 0121 2703921. The business is conducted on a partnership basis and Cohort Tuition is the tuition service providing all the services which are detailed on this website. The services offered and the fees charged may be varied at any time, subject to the terms and conditions highlighted. Cohort Tuition reserves the right to at any time discontinue the tuition service and remove a pupil from our register. The same right to discontinue receiving our services rests with the pupils/parent(s). The business is not registered for VAT.

Initial assessments

These can be booked by post, telephone or e-mail. The tuition is based on the specific requirements of the student, and the initial assessment will allow the tutor to outline how he/she feels the tuition shall commence and for the pupil to make detailed comments on how he/she would like the tuition to meet his/her needs. Pupils are not committed to sign up for regular periods of tuition nor are they committed to attend tuition after the initial assessment.

Payment terms

Payment by cash or cheque must either be made at each tutorial or in advance for an agreed number of tutorials. Payment by cheques should only be made out to 'Cohort Tuition' and all discussion/queries in relation to fees and charges should be directed at the proprietors of Cohort Tuition.

Code of conduct

Students may curtail their ongoing association with Cohort Tuition at any time (subject only to the cancellation policy below). Cohort Tuition staff shall conduct themselves courteously at all times. Cohort Tuition staff must be treated with respect and courtesy at all times from pupils and their parent(s). Cohort Tuition staff will not tolerate abuse of any kind. Whilst on the premises during tuition sessions, pupils are responsible for any damage caused to any equipment or parts of the premises belonging to or being used by Cohort Tuition. If any damage is caused by a pupil (s), be it intentionally or accidental, reasonability and liability to repay and charges incurred shall solely lie with the pupil(s) and their parent(s)/guardian(s).

Variation of fees and services

Fees may be changed and the services offered added to or withdrawn at any time. However, fees will not be varied during a course or other service in progress.

Limit of liability

Cohort Tuition will not be liable for any consequential loss or damage to its students, however caused, in the event that tuition cannot be provided for any reason. Students' statutory rights are not affected by any clause shown in these Terms and Conditions. Students can expect high quality tuition; however, Cohort Tuition cannot guarantee examination results.

Cancellation policy

A minimum of 48 hours notice must be given for any tuition session cancellations (unless unforeseen emergency). If a pupils/parent(s) fails to give 48 hours notice, a charge may be levied.

Homework

Tutors at Cohort Tuition will endeavour at all times to assist in an individual's learning schedule. Cohort Tuition insists on the completion of all homework set. Failure to do so may result in expulsion from future tuition sessions.

Stationary

All pupils are required to bring in the following pieces of stationary during all tuition sessions; pen, pencil, ruler, rubber, calculator (maths, science and 11+ only), dictionary (English and 11+ only) and an A4 ring binder.

Sibling discounts

Parents sending two or more children for tuition receive a discount of £1 per hour for each child. Pupils eligible for the discount must be from the same immediate family and the discount is only available when more than one child is in attendance for any given week.

Recommend a Friend scheme

£20 cash or voucher only payable after first 5 paid lessons. £20 cash or voucher only payable for one sibling per family. No limit to recommendations, promotion valid until further notice. £20 cash or voucher will be posted or can be collected in person after Cohort Tuition has contacted you. Parents of pupils already attending Cohort Tuition may opt for a discount of £20 towards their child's/children's tuition fees instead of cash or voucher. The variety of vouchers on offer is at the discretion of Cohort Tuition. Cohort Tuition's decision on any aspect of the promotion is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
